A nice selection of goodies in the machine this week. Salsa Fries and Flamin' Hot Chee-tos have been added apparently to keep us warm during the next few months. However, it seems that Foodworks has been re-established in the vending area, so I'm not quite sure yet what implications there are for the vending machine reviews.

This weeks review:

Andy Capp's Salsa Fries

Rarely do I ever take advice on what to review, but Yutung had suggested these as a candidate the day before. This morning when I came in and reviewed the machine, I realized it was the only logical choice.

Andy Capp is a cartoon character from some comic strip. I don't know where a cartoon character gets off moonlighting in snack foods products, but I'd say he's got a future in it. In fact, he has a line of fries products which also includes Cheddar and Hot.

The salsa fries are spicy and hot. They are not as hot as the Flamin' Hot Chee-tos, but respectable nonetheless. They have really good salsa flavor, and the package has a substantial amount of product in it to keep your hunger satisfied for a while. I recommend Mountain Dew as a chaser.

As an interesting side note, the main ingredient is "degermed yellow corn meal". Thank goodness for that! While everyone else is offering germed corn meal, Andy Capp comes forth and sets new standards in corn meal.
