We daily get testimonials and case histories of the nightmares people endure on NutraPoison! On April 3, 1996 the following letter came from Jeanette Soto. She is the author of BLINDED SIGHT and wrote about her husband who went blind from NutraSweet. This is very important to diabetics because many times physicians think its diabetic retinopathy when they going blind on aspartame. The methanol (wood alcohol) in aspartame converts to formaldehyde in the retina of the eye.

She is a very courageous woman and continues to warn others. A couple of years ago she exposed NutraSweet on a Florida TV program. Here is her letter which she titled:

TO EMBALM...OR NOT TO EMBALM

My father-in-law, Santiago ("Chago") Echiverria had spent his last 15 - 20 years of his life battling diabetes. He moved from Ashtabula, Ohio (where he had retired from the Railroad), to Anasco, Puerto Rico. For years "Chago" drank Equal in his many daily cups of coffee, and of course NutraSweet in his cold drinks.

When we received word of his death in June of 1994, we made arrangements immediately to fly to Puerto Rico for the funeral. Upon arrival, we were told that because of the large content of formaldehyde in his body, they immediately had to close the casket for it was seeping through his skin.

His sister, Minerva Ortiz and Nydia Colon, told me that the funeral director said he had never seen a body deteriorate as quickly, and was puzzled by the formaldehyde content even before embalming.

Knowing what I know about the chemical components of aspartame, I believe Chago died, not of diabetes, but from the formaldehyde content of his years of consuming aspartame through Equal and NutraSweet.

One other report I received regarding the formaldehyde content from diet drinks was from an engineer who works in my office. His wife is an RN at a hospital in Florida. Working with me, her husband has received much information on the adverse reactions to aspartame, which he would take home for his wife to read.

One particular night, she arrived home and told her husband that I had been right about aspartame's adverse effects. She said a patient had died because of diet drinks? Puzzled and inquisitive, she asked the doctor what he meant. He said that this particular patient had a high level of formaldehyde in his body. He continued to explain that this gentleman had stored cases of diet drinks in his garage, and because of the chemical breakdown in diet drinks when the temperature rises, he felt that those drinks, which had set for a lengthy period of time in his hot garage, had indeed contributed to his death.

When the story was related to me, I was again incensed at a governmental agency that is not doing their job to protect innocent victims, only because of greed!

Dr. Russell Blaylock, neurosurgeon has written EXCITOTOXINS; THE TASTE THAT KILLS (Health Press) 1 800 -643-2665. Dr. Blaylock even explains NutraSweet precipitates diabetes, and the ADA is endorsing this poison for diabetes (Monsanto funded). Dr. Roberts on a radio program 1/28/96 explained how diabetics are going into convulsions because of aspartame, how it keeps the blood sugar out of control and that many are going blind.

Be warned. This isn't the first time I've been told undertakers are puzzled about bodies being full of formaldehyde. Its now in 7000 products and climbing and the patent has expired, and its in many things you might not consider. Even though the FDA originally said you couldn't heat aspartame they have now approved it in baked goods. And pharmacists are complaining aspartame is in drugs and antibiotics and cause the very thing the drug is suppose to treat.

Aspartame is not a food additive, but developed as a drug, and its a deadly one. The Congressional REcord (may, l985) brought out aspartame is not even a diet product but makes you crave carbohydrates so you gain weight.

An article recently sent to me said: "The EPA recommends no more than 7.8 mg/day, while an average soft drink containing aspartame contains around 56 mg. of methanol." I asked DR. Roberts if this was correct and he said it was.

Aspartame is now in over 90 countries of the world and many are complaining of the serious problems we're seeing in the States. The FAD report list 92 documented symptoms from coma and blindness to seizures and death (Aug, l995).

We hope you will download the articles and physician reports on our responder and copy and distribute. You have to email me for the flyer and Dr. Raiford's report. Doctors Roberts and Blaylock say methanol toxicity from aspartame mimicks MS, and we have gotten many people off aspartame and had their symptoms disappear. The EPA declared an epidemic of MS and lupus in this country on November 30 at the World Environmental Conference. I was there to lecture on both.

This poison changes the dopamine level of the brain - IT CHANGES THE BRAIN CHEMISTRY and triggers many neurological diseases. It causes birth defects and mental retardation. If Senator Metzenbaum's bill (on responder) had been allowed out of committee (heavy lobbying against it) it would have warned all pregnant women and infants off NutraSweet. It also would have required "independent" testing by NIH on the problems existing in the population at the time, because some of the original studies by the manufacturer had been the target of an indictment for fraud that was not carried out. The U.S. Attorney Sam Skinner went to work for the manufacturer's law firm defending the case.

Dr. Roberts warns that even a male consuming aspartame at the time of conception can cause his child to have birth defects. His report on pregnancy and aspartame is also on the responder.
