: Would there be any money in a re-release of Obsidian? Are the graphics "good enough" to compete in today's market? Is the MTropolis player the achillies heal here?
: Does anyone know actually in reality how many copies of Obsidian were PURCHASED by customers? (not shipped to stores)
Since it hasn't been re-released, I would guess
that the "experts" say no. In the event of
re-release, I'd think they'd want to soup it up,
ala RealMyst/Myst Masterpiece Edition. However,
I believe they don't consider those efforts
totally successful from a marketing standpoint,
so that's probably another "no vote" for a re-
release of Obsidian. I'd say that the trend is away from the Quicktime/mTropolis players--all for the good.
Probably our only chance for a re-release or
sequel would have been for Rocket Science to have
stayed together and been successful. With their
demise, we're all doomed to a dreary fate like
oozing masses of protoplasm......longing for a
return to the bureau.
Always remember that even in the 21st Century
with devils named Osama Bin Laden nipping at our
heels:
The Nexus Still Turns Both Ways.
Adios.
