Benvolio tells his version:

Benvolio's description of the two fights is fair, straightforward, and honest. He assigns the blame for starting the fight, and for the stabbing of Mercutio, and for the second fight, and for the stabbing of Tybalt. He seems to leave nothing out... (but one might notice that he manages to avoid mentioning his own name even once).
