Juliet's "double-talk":
Throughout the play, Juliet manages to carefully fashion her words so that they can seem to mean the opposite of what she really means. This is a trick of speech which apparently delighted Mr. Shakespeare, as he used it in some of his other works, as well. The Elizabethans used to call this "equivocation." Today, the technical term used is "lying."
