Dowry
Dowry: Capulet offers Montague the "jointure" from his daughter's wedding.
This refers to the "dowry." A "dowry" is the money that exchanged hands between
a groom and the father of a bride, when a marriage was performed. In other
words, it was the sum that the groom was willing to pay to buy the girl from
dad, or the money that the dad had to pay in order to get the groom to take
the girl off of his hands. Dowry. Got it?
